About MediaWorks TV

MediaWorks TV operates New Zealand's leading privately-owned free-to-air channel, TV3, and also the popular youth-oriented TV channel, C4. MediaWorks TV has an aggregate audience share of approximately 27% of New Zealand viewers in the 18-49 demographic, and secures approximately 30% of the New Zealand television advertising market. TV3 commenced operations in 1989, and MediaWorks TV employs over 300 full time employees.

MediaWorks TV operates TV3 and C4 from network premises in Auckland, with sales offices and news bureaus in Wellington, Christchurch and Sydney, sales offices in Hamilton and Melbourne, and a news bureau in Dunedin.

TV3 has some 190 VHF transmitters that cover 98% of the population of the country, which for sales purposes are divided into five distinct regions, giving advertisers the opportunity to purchase the country as a whole, or any one of the five specific regions. The five regions are Auckland, Wellington, Regional North Island, South Island and Digital homes.

C4 operates from shared premises with TV3 and operates 13 VHF transmitters covering approximately 70% of the population, mainly in urban areas.

TV3 and C4 are also available via Freeview, a free-to-air digital transmission consortium, operating via satellite and UHF distribution.

MediaWorks TV is a division of MediaWorks NZ Limited, which is a subsidiary of HT Media Holdings Limited.
