New TV audience research agreement inked
Nielsen Media Research is to expand its television audience measurement panel following the signing of long-term agreements with the four leading television broadcasters: TVNZ, CanWest NZ, SKY and Prime.
The agreements are for seven years until 2010.
The existing panel of 470 homes through New Zealand will be expanded to 500 homes over the next 12 months. In a related move, the TelstraClearSaturn cable platform is also being included in the measurement of television viewing.
NMR will also be introducing new measurement equipment for the more technically complex panel homes to ensure television viewing behaviour can continue to be effectively measured.
